Cebrum - Safety and simplicity

Cebrum is derived from the Latin word Cerebrum: the main part of the brain in control of movement, communication, decisions and memory.

Cebrum AS was established in 2008 and is located in the maritime cluster Aalesund, Norway. The company and our sub-suppliers have extensive maritime IC&T expertise, with experience from both the offshore oil- and gas segment and fisheries.

Cebrum AS has developed and delivers a smart computer tool that reduces crew’s work load related to HSEQ reporting and elevates awareness of operational procedure during advanced maritime operations. The system is flexible and provides the crew with digitized procedures and checklists based on the company’s own HSEQ needs and requirements.

Checklists, forms and reports may be filled out directly on touch screens and are continuously replicated onshore for statistics and workflow handling. The system also enables the designated person to, easily revise and distribute new documents and media files. This drives usage, attention and adherence.

We focus mainly on the offshore segment, where there is a high degree of market pull due to strict HSE requirements. Our business model is highly scalable and may be adapted to new markets.

We value customer-driven innovation and a key criterion for all our initiatives is to work closely with various user groups to provide optimal solutions and easy implementation.

The company is welcoming potential investors or business partners.

  • Adherence is everything

By 2002, almost all the international shipping community was required to comply with the ISM-code. As a result, vast resources has been put into developing Safety Management Systems and Quality Assurance Systems aimed at enhancing safe and efficient vessel operations. At the same time, most studies indicate a huge element of human error in offshore incidents, and investigations more than often conclude the cause to be non-adherence of existing safety procedures.

The costs of accidents caused by non-compliance are huge, but still little has actually been done in order to proactively enhance adherence. Current safety management systems seems to be too complex for operating staff; introducing vast amounts of documents, reporting routines and manual handling.
